• The web developer and administrator is mainly responsible for the design and development of Java based applications and Content Management System (CMS) usin CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) standard. The developer will be worki e design of systems in an open source environment.
• This position also has the responsibility of regularly updating and maintaining the main website including all associated departments. The right candidate must have hands on experience in developing and managing websites based on DevOps concept using Java, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
QULAIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology (IT) or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
Must have 3 to 6 years of working experience in website development and maintenance.
Must have working experience in an enterprise level IT organization, Experience in higher
Education sector is a plus. , .•.
Working experience in setting up the CMS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and support java based applications and content Management Systems (CMS) for end users using CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) standard.
• Design, Build and maintain easy to use websites.
• Coordinate with departmental webmasters in all related areas of websites' development and maintenance.
• Test websites across different browsers, operating systems and devices.
• Maintain, configure and troubleshoot servers.
• Coordinate with the IT operations team to monitor, maintain and scale/tweak server availability, Performance and resources.
• Liaison with the IT security team to ensure secure deployment of new and existing content / applications.
• Optimize loading speeds and capacity.
• Debug web pages and fix broken links or images,
• Update website content and review Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
• Monitor and analyze site performance (e.g. traffic, conversions)
• Address user complaints.
• Regulate and manage access rights of different users on website.
• Evaluating and recommend website development tools.
KNOWLEFGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Strong knowledge and understanding on core Java, J2EE, RDBMS, Object Oriented Design, Data structures, design patterns and collections, Multi-threaded programming, and Java standard APIs.
• Experience in using the Distributed Caching solutions and distributed version control systems (GIT/Mercurial).
• Experience with Front-end technologies - HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Working experience in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring Framework, Python, Django Web Framework, Ajax, JQuery, C#, PHP, Angular JS.
• Experience in developing SOAP and Rest Web Services.·
• Administration of Microsoft Share Point 2013/2016 along with the knowledge of development and customizations would be a plus point.
• Experience of working on Windows Server 2008 or higher Linux 8.x or higher.
• Knowledge of databases such as Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition, Microsoft SQL Database and Postgre SQL Database, Etc.
• Knowledge and Understanding of best practices policies and operation in deploying, maintaining and removing websites.
• Proven experience in effectively managing a diverse set of websites administration, deployment and management and strong team player and ability to work in a team with diverse background.
